I discovered this fellow that really likes pregnant animal pictures. Here is a creepy exerpt,

I very love animals. Probably it looks bizarre, but I very much like to see pregnant animals. I very much love to look at their huge, distended bellys. I have female dog named Marta, and each year she becomes pregnant, and I very like to observe her and touch her inflated belly. It's great!

Here is a link that shows how you can play Settler's of Catan online. But wait! You can get a free month if you get the year's subscription which is 30$ US. Anyways, 30 bucks for a year isn't bad I suppose, but it isn't the kind of thing that I would be willing to pay for, especially since playing online would be solely about competition with the social aspect removed. I am sure you can communicate with your opponents, but it wouldn't really be the same as harassing people you know, in person, for that priceless wheat/grain that they just picked up. Settlers of Catan is a board game that was developed in Germany and it is really good. Look it up on the internets if you are interested.

Anyone have a site where they get podcasts of some kind? I think it is the sort of thing that is like an mp3 file so I am hoping to put things on my mp3 player for running and such things. I know CBC has some but I don't think I am really into listening to a science show. Just put your suggestions in the comments if you have any. I might look into that sort of thing in the near future.

I have discovered that through itunes if you 'subscribe' to the thing it will download them. Anyways I don't like streaming them because you can't pause it or move forward etc.

This is a book, written by Mark Haddon, that was recommended to me by my friend Connor. It has is written from the point of view of a 15 year old autistic boy (more specifically Asperger's syndrome). It is set in London and is an interesting read because it kind of shows you how an autistic child might think. There is a lot of humour and moving moments, and it is also a bit of a murder mystery. Periodically there are little illustrations or diagrams in the novel and I found these were interesting. Since I don't like going into the plots of things when talking to someone that hasn't seen it I won't! It is an easy read, and under 250 pages, I think. So go buy it, or get it from the library or something. It has won a bunch of awards including the Whitbread.

This must be what everyone was doing yesterday instead of coming to play frisbee! (It was a bit wet though) Someone else did come, after waking me up and assuring me that they would be there, but they got there 30 minutes late. You know know who you are DOUG! I tried to take a run but then I realized that I hadn't taken any of my turbuhaler(asthma inhaler) and the mosquitos were out in force so I quickly gave up. Maybe next week the stars will align and we will play a game or maybe I will get a dog.

Nothing special today. You will have to make due with a fat dog picture and a classic song from the Crash Test Dummies, back when they didn't suck.

*edit Oh Oh, here is an interesting article on continuity in science fiction. I may have sent it to a few people already about a month ago, but I found it to be an interesting and humourous read.

Here is a poster for the Narnia movie that comes out on December 9th. I guess the Weta Shop guys are doing a lot of the props for it. (Did Lord of the Rings stuff)Might be a good movie, I don't know. Click on the picture for a bigger image.

Went to a Theresa Sokyrka concert tonight, It was really really good. She was the runner-up in last years Canadian Idol TV show. I have listened to her CD and while it isn't too bad it was a lot better live. She had a band but my favourite songs were the ones that she did with just her acoustic guitar. She seemed comfortable on stage and her banter was good. She is/was really hot. Anyways, here is a song from her CD, Turned My Back. It is one of the three songs on the CD she wrote herself, and they end up being the best. Anyways she showed a lot more skill than from her performances on Canadian Idol and I hope she makes another album soon of mostly her own material.

I was really close to a fox once, it was on the highway sleeping. It was quite beautiful, but it had misplaced its head somewhere.

Here is some old timey folk song, it is only a minute and a half long and I think it is interesting. You just have to jump through some minor hoops to download it, but it isn't much trouble.

I just saw Batman Begins and I have to say it is really good. As you might imagine from the title it goes into describing the origins of Batman. As a result the character is a lot more developed. The movie is all about Batman and this sets it apart from the other Batman movies where there was a large focus on the villians, especially the later versions. There are other interesting parts played by big name actors, like Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine, but they are there to supplement the story rather than dominate it. Having Katie Holmes did not cause me to think of Tom Cruise once during the movie despite having a War of the Worlds trailer before the movie, so that was nice. The movie is probably less kid friendly than the other Batman movies because I think they might be bored a large amount of the time and scared for some other parts. Anyways, it was good.

We had five people show up for Ultimate because certain people decided that they were too cool to show up. Doug! Here is an image of someone catching the frisbee in the middle of the action!


Hopefully next time we will have enough for a full game.

If you compare the headline in the picture with my last headline you will see that we are both brilliant wordsmiths. I saw some minor flooding at spots, but I don't live down by the river or anything crazy like that. I haven't heard about people being hurt by hail, but the car has some dents in it. In the article below the headline it says that they don't have to worry about the main river flooding for a few days at least. (We had a fairly serious flood warning last week)

As for the reminder it is Father's Day on Sunday, so how you deal with that is your problem.

We had maybe the biggest, and best, hailstorm here that I have ever seen. Here are some pictures of some hailstones that were salvaged. There is a lot of rain too, and it continues to pour.

Here are some whale shirt iron-ons that I have smushed onto a couple shirts. I designed the image myself because I am special. In other news these pictures are apparently a little too big for the side bar. Oh well there isn't really anything good there anyways.
